The 9th and 10th Long Night of Museums
Long nights at museums are by now part of the standard programme of many German and European cities. The idea for museums, galleries and exhibitions to stay open all night originated in Berlin.
Meanwhile, the "Long Night" has become an institution. There are long nights twice a year, one in summer and one in winter. In the Prussian year, also Brandenburg´s museums will close their doors long after midnight during the "long nights".
Berlin Summer of Museums
An initiative of the MD Berlin turns the permanent programmes of the museums into an attraction. In the Prussian year it invites visitors to rediscover the constantly changing museum scene of Berlin. The museums become a charming background for a huge number of events, ranging from concerts and special activities for children to open-air-cinema.
Individual Events-A Prussian Caleidoscope
Programmes of individual organizers are making up the lion´s share of the complete programme: they stand for the diversity of the theme.
A Prussian Caleidoscope: Adolph Menzel´s paintings on Prussia,
Seven Prussian City Walks, Prussian Personalities : Friedrich Karl von Savigny, Georg Reichsfreiherr von Derfflinger, Leopold von Ranke,
Prussian Builders : Ludwig Persius, Three Prussian Poets: Ewald,
Franz and Heinrich von Kleist, charming ladies and respectable gentlemen,
backpack farmers and poor landowners and so on. We recommend intensive studying of the catalogue.
